Northern Sydney Central Coast Area Health Service

Three grants were awarded to the Northern Sydney Central Coast Area Health Service.
  • Gosford Hospital: establishment of Multidisciplinary Teams in lymphoma, lung, head and neck, breast, gastrointestinal and urological cancers.
  • Northern Sydney Central Coast Multidisciplinary Team Enhancement Project: enhancing Multidisciplinary Teams for breast, gastrointestinal, colon, prostate, neurological, lung, head and neck, gynaecological and haematological cancers. The project will link Royal North Shore Hospital to the Central Coast, Ryde and Manly Hospitals.
  • Long Jetty Hospital: linking palliative care into the Central Coast Multidisciplinary Teams.

South Eastern Sydney Illawarra Area Health Service

Four grants were awarded to the South Eastern Illawarra Area Health Service.

  • Shoalhaven District Memorial Hospital: enhancing breast and lung cancer Multidisciplinary Teams and supporting the development of colorectal and generic rural cancer Multidisciplinary Teams across the Shoalhaven.
  • St Vincent's Hospital Multidisciplinary Teams and Clinics: establishing breast cancer multidisciplinary team clinics and meetings and the enhancement of those held for general oncology, head and neck, urological and gastrointestinal cancers.
  • Integrated network for upper gastrointestinal cancer: linking of Multidisciplinary Teams at Prince of Wales and St Vincent's Hospitals.
  • Enhancing Multidisciplinary Care at St George and Sutherland Hospitals: enhancing breast, head and neck and lung cancer teams and supporting the development of a prostate brachytherapy team that includes Wollongong Hospital.

Sydney South West Area Health Service

A grant was awarded to the Sydney South West Area Health Service to establish two positions to assist in supporting the 26 Multidisciplinary Teams across the area.

Sydney West Area Health Service

Three grants were awarded to the Sydney West Area Health Service.

  • Westmead Hospital: supporting the enhancement of Multidisciplinary Teams for sarcoma, melanoma, metastatic breast and lower gastrointestinal cancers.
  • Westmead Hospital: supporting the enhancement of Multidisciplinary Teams for head and neck, neurological, urological and upper gastrointestinal cancers.
  • Nepean Hospital: supporting the enhancement of Multidisciplinary Teams in breast and lung cancer and the establishment of a multidisciplinary team in gastrointestinal cancer.

North Coast Area Health Service

Five grants were awarded to the North Coast Area Health Service. Four of these were supporting teams in specific areas:

  • Tweed Valley: breast, colorectal, lung, genitourinary and urological cancers
  • Port Macquarie: breast, colorectal, lung, gastrointestinal and urological cancers
  • Lismore: colorectal, haematological and breast cancers
  • Coffs Harbour: breast, colorectal, urological, paediatric and haematological cancers.

The fifth grant was awarded to support the establishment of a multidisciplinary rural palliative care team across the Area Health Service.

Hunter New England Area Health Service

A grant was awarded to the Hunter New England Area Health Service for the establishment of Multidisciplinary Teams for prostate, breast, gastrointestinal, head and neck cancer and the enhancement of Multidisciplinary Teams in lung cancer and lymphoma.

Greater Southern Area Health Service

Three grants were awarded to support the development of Multidisciplinary Team Development in the Greater Southern Area Health Service.

  • Queanbeyan Region: establishment of a rural oncology multidisciplinary team at Goulburn and expansion of the model to Bega, Moruya, Cooma and Young.
  • Riverina Region: breast, colorectal, prostate and gastrointestinal Multidisciplinary Teams to be enhanced.
  • Albury / Wodonga Region: establish Multidisciplinary Teams in lung and haematological cancers and to enhance the existing breast, gastrointestinal, urological and rural cancer teams.

Greater Western Area Health Service

A grant was awarded to the Greater Western Area Health Service to establish a process of developing Multidisciplinary Teams within the area.

Private Services

Mater Hospital

A grant was awarded to provide support for four Multidisciplinary Teams in the areas of breast cancer, head and neck cancer, melanoma and gynaecological cancer.

Sydney Adventist Hospital

A grant was awarded to provide support for two Multidisciplinary Teams in the areas of breast cancer and gastrointestinal cancer.
