David Storey trained in General Surgery at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. He returned to RPAH from training in the UK in Upper GI Surgery in 1981, and is currently the head of the Department of Hepatobiliary and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery, and chair of the weekly combined Upper GI / Colorectal Cancer Meeting. He also operates at Concord Hospital and at the Mater Hospital. He has been the chairman of the NSW State Committee of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and served on many other surgical committees, as well as being an examiner for the RACS in General Surgery. His interests have been in therapeutic endoscopy and surgical training as well as in Upper GI cancer.
