Project Officer Adolescents & Young Adults (AYA) Clinical Cancer Networks

An excellent opportunity to be involved in the development of NSW Clinical Cancer Networks and improve outcomes for young people affected by cancer.

As Project Officer Cancer Networks you will project manage the Commonwealth Youth Cancer Networks Program for NSW/ACT to achieve optimal patient care and outcomes for adolescents and young adults living with cancer. This is a unique change management role and involves working with health services to make a real difference to cancer outcomes for young people.

Key components of this project include stakeholder consultation, monitoring milestones and development of a communications plan to facilitate the dissemination of information to clinical networks. You will actively contribute to the implementation of education programs and referral mechanisms, work collaboratively with established networks in the field to identify information and service gaps in existing cancer clinical networks and support the uptake of evidence based practice.

The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of the NSW health system, an interest in cancer control and be committed to working with others to improve cancer outcomes for young people. You will demonstrate excellent project management skills in all phases of program execution. You will have exceptional consultation skills with an ability to build strong working relationships with diverse stakeholders. Your analytical skills accompanied by your ability to successfully manage competing priorities will see you succeed in this role.

Administrative Support Officer Grants

The Grants Secretariat is the focal point for all business related activities associated with the administration of grants, agreements and financial management within the Cancer Institute NSW. Working with program staff of the various Divisions of the Cancer Institute NSW and the Grant Review Committees, the Grants Secretariat is the first point of contact for any queries relating to grants management, and ensures the effective stewardship of state government funds and uniform administration of the various grant programs.

As the Administrative Support Officer supporting the Grants Secretariat, you will provide a full range of administrative, executive and secretariat support services for the efficient and effective administration of the competitive grants process. You will also provide timely, accurate advice and information to external stakeholders on relevant policies relating to the grants application process.

To be successful in this role, you will have excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail. You will be experienced in providing administrative support in a team environment as well as the ability to meet strict deadlines.

Administrative Support Officer Prevention

In this position you will be responsible for providing timely and efficient administrative services to support the efficient day to day activities of the Division of Cancer Prevention. You will be responsible for a diverse range of administrative activities including the organising of travel and accommodation, arranging meetings, and the processing of claims for payment.

The successful applicant will be experienced in the provision of high quality secretarial, administrative and receptionist support services. You will have excellent communication skills, advanced computer skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Manager Cancer Health Professionals Learning & Development Program

Your opportunity to be work with industry experts and lead the skills enhancement of NSW Cancer Health Professionals involved in cancer care.
The Cancer Services & Education Division’s priority is to enhance Cancer Services and Professional Education aimed at improving cancer survival and quality of life for patients and their carers. Key program areas include; Patient Supportive Care, Smarter Models of Care & eviQ Cancer Treatments Online.

Reporting to the Director Cancer Services and Education, you will lead the development and implementation of evidence based best practice learning & development programs and develop strategies that underpin the skills enhancement of Cancer Health Professionals.  You will develop collaborative partnerships with national and state health professional registration and regulation agencies to facilitate the development of contemporary adult learning interventions that enhance the capability of skilled health professionals.  You will manage a team of multi-disciplinary specialists and represent the Cancer Institute NSW at both a state and national level on professional development programs for NSW Cancer Health Professionals.

The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of the professional development requirements of the health industry accompanied by a thorough understanding of both the NSW and Commonwealth health system. You will have excellent program development and evaluation skills with an ability to provide recommendations on both strategic and tactical issues relating to health professional practice. You will have excellent leadership skills to mentor a team of specialists and achieve high levels of professional service delivery.

Data Manager, Centre for Health Record Linkage – 12 month contract

The Centre for Health Record Linkage (CHeReL) is a cooperative venture involving a number of key partners from government, academic and clinical fields. The CHeReL will provide key infrastructure to support health research, and the planning and evaluation of health services.

Due to an increase in health data linkage projects, the CHeReL has a vacancy for an additional  Data Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the linkage of health related datasets using advanced statistical techniques.

To be successful in this role, you will have tertiary qualifications or demonstrated relevant professional experience in roles such as a data manager, data analyst, system administrator or database administrator.  You will also have a strong understanding of relational database technologies and the capacity to use SQL, SAS or similar.
